You need to please re-read what I wrote, that's clearly not what I said. I never used the word "more" or "most." I never said this affects runners more than others. All I said that this was an attack that happened at an event for runners. By default they were the target. This has nothing to do with the

Why are you making this a competition?

Thank you for this :)

Omg, I don't even know if I would have recognized him! Great pic!

Ok, I see your point. I'm just so sensitive because I'm a runner and this has been really upsetting because it's a place you feel totally safe (and I'm not from Boston and I've never run the Boston marathon). But I realize that I have to temper this because people who were there to watch their friends and loved ones

But it was against runners regardless if runners were a political target or because the event was a large, public, target where people happened to be running. It was an attack at a marathon and by default runners and spectators were the target.

Wow, you nailed it. Great response.

OMG I LOVE COLBERT. For the first time since Monday I cried in a good way.

If you had won me a free tab, you def. would be my hero, too!

Wow, your life must be a barrel laughs.

"Kool-Aid and Kool-Aid Man are undeniably fun and positively bold."

I really don't understand why a family asking for her name not to be released isn't respected. Her entire bio is on the NYT already. I don't care where she went to HS. If her family wants privacy, my need for information doesn't trump that. I don't get it.

I hadn't seen that! Thanks for sharing.

Ha, true! That comment seems like it would come from someone who is an equal opportunity racist. I meant re: Muslims but I see your point!

Not really on topic at all...but I lol'd when I read that last comment "Farrah smells like Fish!!!"

Exactly. Unfortunately, by de-individualizing people it creates a cognitive/emotional distance. It's easier to "other" them and that's how you get assholes like this baker guy (who truthfully I had never heard of) who can malign like 1/3 of the worlds population by calling them animals.

If the perpetrator is white, my guess is they'll be labeled "crazy". Which, in comparison with Muslims or Arabs or people from the Middle East which are portrayed as "animals", i.e. less than human. It's a semantic difference that means that one person who is crazy doesn't reflect the whole (the US), where with

I have some acquaintances on Facebook that really represent the far-end of the racism spectrum. I keep them there to keep tabs- like I can see just how far out there someone can go.

This all absolutely makes me want to sign up for another marathon as a big FU to whoever did this.

Congrats on your finish and I'm sorry your experience was so marred by tragedy.
