the process plant control systems we design at my employer have multiple levels of dual, sometimes triple and quad redundant systems. Redundant power supply, power feeds, network switches, networks, processors, etc. So you don't have a power supply or a cable knocking out a refinery.

this thing is a total joke. The unit cost is something huge like $80k-90k but with heavy taxpayer subsidies. Not to mention GM will have to subsidize the price by doing stuff to their other models that sell more units. So after all these subsidizes its still 45k.
