The sweet spot for affordability is the 3FE 80 series, the FJZ80 gets all the love because it feels like it has twice the power of the old 3FE. It also was just before Toyota decided we get the Lux Cruiser or nothing, so you can get them with cloth seats. 

I see the two doors pop up for time to time for a lot less than this. The big gaping hole in the interior trim should be fixed if he wants top dollar. It’s not like it has exceptionally low miles either. CP.
