It was pretty amazing, and just two years after the Bucs won the Super Bowl. It was a rare, wonderful time to be a Tampa sports fan.

I don't know if you intended to bury this in a reply to me, but I like the jams. I'm really into Tokyo Police Club's latest album at the moment.

Cool thread idea. I have to go with Tampa Bay over Calgary in the 2004 Stanley Cup Final. I'm a lifelong Lightning fan, so seeing them win it all was really special.

Come argue with me in the comments!

How'd you do, Erg???

If only there was a commenter, one with a humble Biblical handle perhaps, to school us all on what the First Amendment really means.

Yeah, Flushing is almost certainly not an option now. What's ironic is that Cosmos could've been the next MLS franchise in NYC, but they were adamant about wanting to be on Long Island, while the league insisted on a franchise in the city. They played chicken with MLS and lost.

Paging Doug Exeter to the discussion forum...

I don't get it.

Latest rumor is that they'll put the stadium where there are currently some warehouses, just south of Yankee Stadium at about 150th street. The original idea to put it in Flushing seemed like the likeliest of options until it was announced that the Yankees were on board, and then the Mets fought that tooth and nail.

It might seem that way to outsiders, but his whole thing about MLS not being able to justify/support the costs of additional teams would only make sense if they all started playing tomorrow. There is a hell of a lot that will change (new CBA and broadcast agreements chief among them) between now and when most of these

But the new CBA (and its increased salary cap) will go into effect next January, before any of these expansion teams start playing. Sounds more like MLS knows it'll be spending a lot more on salaries in the coming years, so they actually can justify these new teams, since they won't actually start playing until well

It's too bad you wrote all of one sentence acknowledging the real issue with MLS's inferior product that you're so quick to criticize. It's all about the salary cap (and to a lesser extent, the American players rule), which is almost certain to increase significantly with the new CBA that will go into effect next

redacted, wrong thread

Calm down, killer, I'm a Madrid fan. But Barca's hodgepodge of a back line has been their undoing this season, and it's relevant when you see Bale just blow past someone who is in way over his head.

They were also missing Marcelo, who's a much better defender than Coentrao, but also offers substantially more in attack. Benzema was not great, his shots were poor, made the wrong runs, and passed into coverage too often.

Worth mention that Bartra is still recovering from a bad hamstring injury, which makes closing down the Gareth Bales of the world that much tougher.

Do the same experiment with King Joffrey quotes and I'll be impressed. "Everyone Is Mine To Torment"

This is a really great comment, and you should base a sitcom off of it.

I have a theory that Raysism is a character created by Tim Burke, or possibly the other way around. True?
