Drew, I know you said that you can't riff Gregggg again next year because he's just too horrible. But please, reconsider. GEIAHD is the best thing you write. Better than your novel, and I really enjoyed your novel! Thanks.

Hilarious.
I'm not sure how accurate "Sunshine Cleaning" actually was in this sense, but it was mildly entertaining.
My company accidentally paid me twice one month last year. I reported it to finance, returned it, no big deal. But they forgot to amend my W2 to remove that extra payment (admittedly, I forgot to check too until long after I'd filed), so I didn't get as much of a tax refund as I was owed. So, you know, check for that.
Jesus man, you really pulled the impervious-to-sarcasm trolls out of the woodwork. Impressive.
See, I get the whole argument in favor of the system rewarding the strongest conference, which is obviously the SEC, because the SEC keeps winning. But on a base, fandom level, I just can't bring myself to root for a team that I was violently cheering against and wishing death upon a week ago. This year that's Bama,…
Here's something that I find infuriating: People who jump onto the bandwagon of whatever team happens to be in the national title game, simply because their team shares a conference with them.
Seems you've already been ripped off
In the interest of saving time, I'll just pretend that your first sentence makes sense. But if you think Valdes is more worthy of the award than Casillas, then you probably haven't seen either of them play in the last few years. There's a reason that Casillas has been the undisputed #1 for Spain for so long. He is a…
Actually, it does. If he honestly thinks a goalkeeper has to "be alert for 2 minutes out of every 90", then he clearly doesn't know much about soccer at all.
You betray your own ignorance to say that a goalkeeper has to be alert for 2 minutes in a game.
Like I said, Casillas captained Spain to its third consecutive major title, and captained Real Madrid to the La Liga title.
Well it's not impossible, considering how long Muller's record stood, and that he did it in far fewer games and without the likes of Xavi and Iniesta setting him up. I'm not taking away that Messi scored a lot of goals this year, but he also didn't win anything significant with club or country.
I realize that. But the journos have been pretty openly campaigning for him. Just ask Graham Hunter or anyone associated with goal.com
I don't necessarily think Ronaldo's better or worse (and I say this as a rabid Real Madrid fan), but they could not be more different in their styles of play. What annoys the hell out of me is the endless fellatio offered to Barca and Messi by pretty much every writer covering soccer these days.
Leap year. Had more time. Doesn't count.

Speaking of soccer, was it just me or did Deadspin completely ignore the MLS Cup Final on Saturday? I know there was Jovan Belcher and a smattering of big college football games to cover too, but nary a mention of the game at all or the fact that it was Beckham's last game in MLS? Come on.
You are mistaken.
