Works for me. Because Wraith-Car.

Thank you, Ed! In general I just can't wrap my head around all modifications that decrease a car's performance, be it these ridiculously oversized wheels, these ridiculously "aggressively fitted" wheels or these ridiculously oversized spoilers and exhaust pipes...

What? No one?

Damn! I knew it! I lived in Rosenheim for 2 years (some 10 years ago) and that was my first thought! And the picture really catches the atmosphere of winter travelling. Great work!

Funny thing that the title picture to "Why Winter Is The Best Time To Drive Across The U.S." shows a stretch of a German Autobahn, presumably somewhere in the south like Bavaria, Baden-Württemberg or (more in the middle) Hesse.

In 1997, when the MB A-Class debuted on the Geneva Motor Show, someone stole a wheel lug. I don't even...

In an intern brochure for employees Daimler boasted that the model codes do not anymore describe the displacement (duh!) but in fact describe (I shit you not!) the "performance" of the cars.

Wouldn't be terribly surprised if one of these creations shows up in Mansory's line-up...

Even if it only applies to multi-level parking garages: Don't be afraid of the next level. I draw a deep personal satisfaction from watching people going to the extremes to park on the first level only to have to walk hundreds of meters/yards to the lift. In the meantime I pull up to the n+1 level, park my car on one

Interesting ... since when did Ford sell the 1st generation Ka in the US?

Screw insurance! This is Jalopnik and not OoohImSaveAndInsuredlopnik!

Thank you! My thoughts exactly. I spent quite a while figuring out what - for example - "should of"/"could of"/"would of" were supposed to mean...

Hm...last time I checked, WhatsApp was available for all major players on the smart phone OS market: iPhone, BlackBerry, Android, Windows Phone and Nokia (Symbian). It goes easy on data but allows sending of pictures, emoji and locations.

You might want to consider something that entertains both your hands and your brain. I started restoring my old motorcycle. Since I have other means of transportation I can thoroughly devote my time and my brain to turning small screws or just planning to rewire the wiring harness...

No one else baffled by the fact that he obviously ignored the mechanic's messages? OK, I admit the first message reeks of cover-up, but ignoring the other messages borders on - well - ignorance. So, Mr 21-year-old student, get out the cash...

I think at least an honorable mention should go to the late GTS (Gas Turbine Ship) Finnjet which connected Helsinki (as in Helsinki, Finland) and Lübeck-Travemünde, Germany from 1977 on. In the first years she steamed into the Lübeck bight with such speed that the whole beach (and the tourists) were regularly

Au contraire: The reason most taxis reach ridiculously high mileages is the constant running (or keeping of running temperature). Hours and hours of idling induce less tear and wear than a single cold start.

Exactly! It's also basically the same way electronic diff "locks" work: the ABS/ESP/ETS whatever box brakes one wheel (normally the spinning one) and forces the torque to the other wheel (that hopefully still has grip).

Ahem, may I remind you of a certain post in your sisterblog: http://jalopnik.com/5926885/dear-hollywood-please-knock-it-off-with-the-overdrive-already
