1) Telemetry collections can be turned off in windows 7, but in windows 10, even if you do turn it off, data is still be gathered.

...and the telemetry it gathers, the constant lock screen advertisements, the soon-to-be subscription model, and forcing everyone with windows 7 to download windows 10.
