Intellectual? Me? Gosh. You're just all flattery, aren't you?

Heeeeeeey, you're still up! And here I thought you wouldn't even reply to me... well, shucks. Btw, gonna need help with this boner. Can we do the usual? I even brought some lube for ya this time so you can sit down afterwards! Lucky, lucky you :D

You sir are made of stern stuff. I couldn't get past the first minute of the video before I felt like slapping him up side the head.

I stopped watching it the moment I realized how fake it was. The guy was trying to be "cool" so hard I couldn't stop feeling sorry for him and had to give up.

Son, we get it. You dislike kotaku. But what do you think you're proving by acting like a prepubescent boy who's discovered trolling for the first time? You're not impressing anyone. So, do yourself a favor and make yourself scarce.

Yeah, a drawing tablet makes a world of difference. I don't know of any alternative brand that comes even close to the quality that wacom offers, so an intuos would be the best choice, bamboo if you're strapped on cash or a cintiq if you really need that pencil on paper feel.

Besides what Norm said, Gimp is also a fairly common tool used by some professionals. There's even some love for ArtRage and Paint Tool Sai for realistic artwork too.
