Pull and shockwave are only effective against enemies without shields, armor or barrier. try pulling the normal troopers who don't have any shields to start. Then hit them with biotic charge and enjoy the combo.

Playing the Portal series is a good way to ease yourself in to the genre. For the most part, they have a slow, casual pace where you aren't running for your life. Much less pressure to perform. Plus, they are fantastic games, and you can probably find them pretty cheap these days.

If you bought the collector's edition, there are actually two codes on the paper with the multiplayer pass. The bottom code unlocks the DLC. If you bought the regular edition, you have to buy the DLC separate.

All adept all the time. Those Biotic combos lay waste to the field. I did promote my adept right before I started the ending of single player, and regretted it immediately.
