You're probably literally 3 hours away from getting Dunban, at least get him before you put the game down for good! Battles speed up since you can have someone else actually do damage (cause Reyn is really slow and Sharla barely attacks). The game grabbed me when Dunban and Mellia joined, it might do the same for you.

I'm plowing through with 7th character, Shulk, and Dunban (I switch Shulk out with Mellia a lot for normal battles, sometimes I opt for controlling Mellia since she's devastating in battle).

Maybe try a Tales game, while you may not like the anime tropes and style (not sure about your tastes), but the games are pretty solid. If the story doesn't grab you (which it may not in some of them) the battles might keep you playing. The battles aren't turn based like in the JRPG's you mention, they're similar to

5-7 hours in Xenoblade Chronicles isn't very much. Did you even make it to Colony 6 in that timespan? The game starts picking up once you get Dunban in your party (which is right after Colony 6) and (later) Mellia, since you have more party choices and more options in battle. I almost put the game down around 10 hours

So in the Abuela Carnage one... did he use carnage on his Abuela? No respect for his elders, I tell ya!

I would LOVE to see FFCC on Wii U, especially if it goes back to the original Gamecube style. I played a tiny bit of the DS titles at a DS kiosk thing a long time ago, and I watched gameplay of the Crystal Bearers on the Wii and it didn't look that great. My brother, friends, and I spent a ton of time playing FFCC

It's just a bug, happens to me every now and then too. Usually refreshing the page or re-logging in fixes the problem for me.

Start of finals week for me... Got 1 final today, 1 tomorrow, and 1 on Wednesday. I really can't wait to be done with the semester so I can start tackling my backlog and get back on FFXI.

Keith Apicary is just a character of Nathan Barnatt, and I can't tell if they actually know that or not in the news video lol. He's REALLY good at staying in character, I couldn't stop laughing.

The thing I hope they get right is the balancing, especially the way you "kill" the opponents. The supers apparently just kill them the second they get hit by it. And watching the preview video, it shows some pretty cheap supers (Sly's camera shot one particularly, it's kinda like Snake's super in SSBB, but

I can agree to that (well for VI and X, never played VIII). Hell I was more emotionally attached to the characters in XIII (and I hated Vanille, Snow, and Hope). Might have been because Aerith's death was spoiled long before I picked up the game, so I came to expect it. VI and X weren't spoiled for me though, so it

Now playing

Reminds me of this video at the 45 second mark =p

I don't know much about people afk-ing in RTS's online, but in the mmorpg Final Fantasy XI, if a party member goes afk in the middle of a fight the party is pretty much screwed. Especially if the person that went afk is the tank or main healer. It's not quite as detrimental when there's a 3 party alliance, but in a

I never beat the emerald and ruby weapons, I didn't farm the stat boosting items so it will be impossible for me to beat them unless I go back now and farm.

Oh ya he reflects everything if I remember lol. I didn't grind for him, it took me a few tries to get the reflect thing down though. And yeah, everything was smooth sailing from there for me as well.

I never got the Knights of Round summon or whatever, I just went in weapons blazing and beat the final boss in VII. Yuffie + Conformer + quad attack materia = utter destruction.

Anyone ever had the need to grind before a final boss?

Oh damn that's horrible. I ALMOST did that to my older brother when I got mad at him once. I couldn't go through with it though, I played as much as he did and knew that it took quite a bit of time and effort to play through them. Well that or I'm just a nice guy, always have been (well, aside from giving a 6th grader

My worst gaming loss had nothing to do with loss of hardware or games, it was a loss of data.

XI has gotten slightly faster paced when they released Abyssea and raised the level caps from 75 up to 99 (slowly went up, one update brought it to 80, then 85, and so on, giving each 5 levels a new limit break). I haven't played it since last summer so I'm excited to get back on and finally get Red Mage or Dancer to
