I used a tortoise paradigm once, ever. It was to beat the battle with Caius in the void world place to get a paradox ending. Serah could not take a hit lol. I ended up using a lvl 20 Bunkerbeast and Serah as a SAB to wound him to death. Serah could not take more than 3 hits lol.

The spells aren't weaker, they do damage relative to how many times you actually cast it. Casting fire 6 times will ultimately do more damage than casting firaga once (assuming you only have 5 atb bars). The -ra and -ga spells are more for AOE than anything else.

You dont need to use the auto battle. The auto battle is there like the "attack" function of the day's of old.
