I was thinking the same thing. Either it's happened or it will happen.

Of course you don't. Your mistaken belief in them doesn't make them true, though.

A couple hundred. People. HERE. As in, hello, all these commenters here.

No, it was ageist.

This is the best fucking story about blatant sexism I've ever heard! GO SUSAN!

Actually, he or she provided like 3 or 4 links.

Yes, because being post-partum with a newborn, your body all effed up, not sleeping, recovering from one of the most taxing experiences a human body can endure, and being scared shitless is totally just like a vacation.

I have been enjoying your comments on this thread so much. "Rumor has it..." LMAO. I wish I could stay so level when I read some of this shit.

Maternity leave isn't about "taking care of children." It's about recovering from a traumatic, extremely painful, insanely physically demanding medical procedure. We cannot just divorce all context from this. We're talking about one of the most physically taxing thing a human could experience.

Wow, no, that's not what we're saying at all. That's quite a jump. It's not that "a woman's role is baby-making" - it's that we just happen to be the only ones who fucking grow and expel human beings. Believe me, I would happily trade, but we can't. Period.

You really don't seem to understand how you want your minority opinion to be the TRUTH.

Do you seriously not understand how you can afford to not worry about corporate politics, but for women it's much, much different? Mainly because of attitudes just like yours?

There's nothing better than a man making a blanket statement about something which he knows nothing, then refusing to explain himself.

You're the first person to say "government mandated." That's ridiculous - no one is advocating for that. Being forced to take time off? Uh...never gonna happen.

Ah, Phyllis Schlafly, the most hypocritical woman alive.

Taxes don't work that way, Big Billy. It's not so cut and dry. Even if it was exactly like that, though, well...too bad. I mean, how many thousands of my tax dollars went to the wars I am so vehemently against? Before I had step-kids, I was paying taxes to keep public schools open. I didn't need the schools, but you

But we're not giving our money to new parents. The past thirty years of Reaganomics have been a disaster for millions of Americans when it comes to understanding what taxes mean.

I don't see why I should be taxed...because of someone else's decision to have a child

...it's hard to make the argument that women deserve something that men do not by being women.

I think women who are "bossy" are seen as bitches, while men who are "bossy" are seen as dedicated workers.
