I had to look up the Body Miller pictures, and several articles about them state that while the texture/consistency they exhibit is a result of inflammatory processes, the blue color was imparted by the medical staff using an imaging dye.
He’s not entirely wrong, the lumps certainly are the product of inflammation and a “misguided” immune response. They just are white/grayish/pinkish in their natural form. :) And yeah, they ARE really freaky.
First off, I’m so sorry you have to suffer through all this. Doctors can be SO frustrating to deal with when they encounter unusual presentations. And you’re right, they are under so much pressure to raise clinical revenue and “improve outcomes” that they are highly unlikely to think outside the box.
It’s easier for people to shrug off pain as ‘all in your head’. Doesn’t help me as I struggle with chronic abdominal pain issues daily and have to argue with doctors any time I talk to them that yes, I take meds, yes, I’ve done the therapy, no, it hasn’t helped. It’s as though these people think we enjoy having to go…
