Land Rover Owner “I’ve got an awesome off-road machine that cost me more than a silly sports car”

An article that doesn’t even show the old logo on a side by side comparison... fail?

I absolutely hate manuals in traffic. People who think otherwise are Psychos.

Aw damn, I didn’t realise the US don’t have them. It’s ridiculous how you can easily extract 400bhp out of the M140i engine with a standard remap. It’s not a hot hatch by any sense of the word, but my god, it gives some good smiles per mile per dollar.

I’ve driven manuals all my life but now I’ve had enough of them. I can only imagine ever having it on a weekender. But for hot hatches they almost always end up as my daily, and with the amount of traffic ever increasing, an automatic is a no brainer.

My friend lent me his Focus RS for a day and drove it like it was my last. It was definitely quick but the car left me wanting, I wasn’t able to quite point it out for a few years until I drove an M140i, which is a car that has vague steering at the middle, but apparently I was smiling all the way throughout the hour

they need to release a shooting brake version.

I think once Tesla has enough manufacturing presence around the globe, they can move onto the BMW 1 series/A class segment and give us a stripped down version of their cars on that model line. Tesla, please, I want a no frills hot hatch. Just give me a battery powered sub 4 second hot hatch, without the

I wear wireless earphones nowadays when I ride as opposed to ear plugs I used to wear. Really does help a lot with that noise fatigue and possible hearing damage. Having said that, I would probably still be able to hear that whistle and get annoyed with it XD

All EV cars are subsidised in Germany, not just the ID3 which is an important detail. There are post COVID car economic stimulus in place which boosts this subsidy to EV cars in France and Germany for example (UK is planning to as well). Because the ID3 is delayed until September, and orders not going out until next

The ID3 isn’t going to be any much cheaper than the model 3. It was touted to start at $33k USD. That’s now jumped to $45,500 USD which is a $12.5k jump. Unfortunately this means it’s directly competing with the Tesla Model 3 now which IMO is a recipe for disaster.

This is already looking dire given that the Tesla Model 3 is currently listed at £40,500 GBP (Was £36,500 at one point), that’s $51,000 is USD (rip-off Britain). The ID3 is expected to start at £39,000 which is not much better. And if they are having software issues, I’d take the Tesla any time of day in that case.

You know, I’ve been riding bikes for years, and I’m pretty damn sure the ratio of male to female attention I get is probably 100:1. And that one girl is most usually also a fellow rider.

If you guys want something more torque-y but also have that linearity of an i4, I’d suggest finding inline 3's i.e. street triple (which livens up after 3k rpm and sings all the way to 12.5krpm ohlala) or mt-09.

When I was travelling in America and saw cop cars, or cops in general, I felt uneasy.

eSports racing is in the same circles as DOTA, CSGO, Fortnite, etc. It’s a video game, and there are people who are really really good at it. This was never meant to be a replacement to the real thing, it serves two purposes. If you like it, good. If you don’t, then move on.

The same reason you don’t watch eSports I presume.

Actually, city centre pedestrianisation is an ongoing case study/goal for quite a lot of European cities. Although having said that, cars and guns are ingrained in American culture and any minor adjustments or even comments to suggest people to change behaviour regarding those two things are always going to be met

Hit the nail on the head. Jaguar could have innovated rather than competed, and that’s where it all went wrong for them.

The XEs  are great driving cars, much better than any other in its segment. Too bad this never gets praised enough in general. I guess it’s hard to shrug off reliability reputation. Plus, they’re looking dated now compared to their equivalents.
