Trump isn’t the problem, or rather he’s not the main problem. The problem is the christian fascism of the Republican Party. Every other candidate put forward by the Reps would have had the exact same policies, only they were more polite about it.

The reality is, as always, likely to be worse than hoped but better than feared. Trump has little interest in policy details - this will be a government of conservative GOP career politicans, a return to the Reagan and first Bush administrations by the looks of those he’s chosen as his allies.

I feel like the American Experiment has failed. There has never been before as large an electoral gap between every category of people in this country. Urban vs. the Rural, Educated vs. Not, Men vs. Women, Whites vs. PoC, etc.

I don’t think most Trump supporters are white supremacists. But it would be a lie to say Trump didn’t run a racially divisive campaign and some of the top people he picked to be in his cabinet have a history of promoting divisive immigration and voting laws. To ignore that is to ignore reality.
