This was last year.

I've heard several stories regarding BMW's turbocharged engines. From what I understand, during this era of F1, a team had unlimited engines to use during the year. BMW mechanics, while buttoning up the car for a qualifying hot lap, would nonchalantly stuff a rag in the turbocharger wastegate, preventing the engine

Shoot, this happens to me after I play too much Forza. I'm sure they do it all the time.

Come on man, was that really necessary?

Brake cooling.

Performance benchmarks aren't stupid. Unregulated performance benchmarks are stupid. The only way that analogy works is if those two children graded their own tests using their own scoring systems, which is really how the 'ring lap time battles are conducted. Nobody knows how the sectors were run, what tires were

What were the specs? The BlueSport was powered by a 2.0-liter TDI four-cylinder engine with 180 horsepower and a very healthy 258 pound-feet of torque. It had VW's generally fantastic six-speed DSG with paddle shifters, an estimated zero to 60 mph time of 6.2 seconds, and a slim curb weight of 2,600 pounds.

The fact that this exists just makes me so inexplicably happy.

As someone who's been autocrossing for 8-10 years and a 24 Hours of Lemons competitior, let me tell you....EVERYTHING is fun to drive on track!

Did I hear Mat Farah @thesmokingtire at the end of that video? "That was actually really cool."

All the internals, which is what they were showing in the video, would still be metal. I'm sure they were just talking about carbon fiber gearbox casings.

Holy crap that picture is terrifying.

It's the blatant ripping off of popular designs that most people hate. The construction issues are secondary in my opinion. It's no better than the eBay "HKS" exhausts and other things of that nature. REAL tuner company "A" does the legwork (unique design, extensive engineering and testing, etc.) and then knockoff

Wikipedia cites all its sources, and it's probably the largest peer reviewed resource you've ever used. The argument that no university will accept wikipedia as a source is not only completely false, but completely arbitrary. How is that even relevant in this context?

I believe there were a significant amount of 3d printed plastic parts used in the DeltaWing's construction. Probably not consumer grade printers, but I don't think printed plastic parts should be completely dismissed. Just like current manufacturing methods, plastic and metal each have their uses.

It's not about F1 being green. It's about F1 developing green technologies which could eventually be used in consumer cars or elsewhere.

are these a series of tacks, or one continuous bead?

Yeah, 240SXs are getting more expensive, the aftermarket for them is still stupid cheap though.

awesome, but environmental?

Most of the GT Academy finalists DID have actual karting and racing experience. After winning the GT academy competition, they also went on to win 3rd in LMP2 class. You're severely misinformed.
