I believe there were a significant amount of 3d printed plastic parts used in the DeltaWing's construction. Probably not consumer grade printers, but I don't think printed plastic parts should be completely dismissed. Just like current manufacturing methods, plastic and metal each have their uses.

It's not about F1 being green. It's about F1 developing green technologies which could eventually be used in consumer cars or elsewhere.
