I didn’t read it as shoving at or with me, just as an example of how that approach could work.
I’m not sure what you’re trying to tell me. I was saying how many R-rated superhero movies there were.
The thing that makes it feel weird is that it’s clearly not a self-aware, tongue-in-cheek goofy movie. It’s a serious movie set in those times, which makes that scene feel even more out of place. It’d work if they were going for more of a Guy Richie’s Knight’s Tale starring King Arthur take.
That opening bit feels like a comedy sketch. “What if Snatch was in a medieval setting!” The fact that they’re actually doing it just feels so odd.
I know that trailers are supposed to show off the actors that are in it, but it’s never felt as oblique as the start of this one. “Look, Tom Hiddleston! And Samuel L. Jackson! John Goodman!”
