I found to be plasmas to be a lot cheaper than LCDs of the same size. Also, they are not as power hungry as they used to be. They now guzzle about as much as LCDs did a few years back. With LED backlights, though, LCDs are still ahead in that department.

@Sugoi: There was this interview with those three people and I specifically recall them saying idTech5 wasn't suited for big, wide open spaces the likes of which an Elder Scrolls game would need. Not enough space on the disks for textures or somesuch.
