Without a charging network, it’s still a city car. To me, that means it would be kind of dumb to buy one when, for just a little more, you could get the Volt. Considering that most people commute less than 40 miles a day, you could still be all electric but have the ICE in reserve for when you want to go out of town.

You are talking about over a decade later. That means a time frame where people who buy new cars would have already sold it off AND 10 more years of battery tech innovation.

Quiet, lower maintenance costs, no oil changes, doesn’t need to be warmed up, commutes can be faster because you can drive in carpool lanes, if more people used electric the cities would be quieter and the air quality would rise. If you don’t think these to be advantages, there’s no pleasing you.
