I'm halfway through reading A Princess of Mars, and I just can't see how they could create a decent movie out of it. It's filled with narration, has a difference tone and pace than most modern books (or even Lord of the Rings) (though I actually enjoy the writing style of the early 1900's), and there is very little

Dropping 'of Mars' was the first mistake, but there were plenty more.

I'll be getting to my LCS later this week (yay pull list!).

Same and agreed.

I don't have any beef with Fox News (and hey, don't other sources have opposite strong spins? It's hard to find fair and balanced journalism around), but this is just petty and pointless. I'm sure they can find something more meaningful to report.

I definitely want all of the Avengers figs, and the X-Men set for Wolverine and Deadpool. Wish there was a Cyclops fig though, and maybe Nightcrawler, Shadowcat, Storm, Gambit...

I have no clue how to do any of that, sorry. :(

Lucas had said plenty of ridiculous things since the prequels, but this has probably made me lose the final bit of respect I had for him.

I do love good space-oriented wallpapers, especially concept art spaceships.

I'm not surprised it's Whedon doing this, but I think that he will do a good job portraying the situation Buffy is going through. These 3 pictures show he's not being biased, and he's a good enough writer to get things right.

Yeah, I'll probably pick up Vs on a character by character basis.

Waiiiit, is AvX going to be its own comic book title series, or is that something happening in ALL the related titles that all tie together?

That's what I was thinking. I don't recall the exact number, but yes, they said it's been done, but they'll take the minor bout of peace while they can.

The studios measure in terms of profits. How much money they get back after production costs is what determines sequels and how much they will spend on making that sequel. Usually it's at least twice as much, maybe more, as I understand it, and international success is something else entirely.

That's a good point how tickets sold is not a good counter because way back when people were more desperate to see movies, unlike now when it'll be on DVD in 3-6 months.

This.

I've only read the first few Narnia, but have hopes of reading the rest eventually.

Another ShortPacked! comic missed. For shame.

Yes, I thought something happened and they were just over on the left half of the country, around the Rocky Mountains. While reading the books and having discussion I realized it was bigger than I thought, but certainly not this big.
