Why would anywhere but Dubai seem like Sci-Fi? New York, DC, California, Japan—all seem like likely places for tall skyscrapers too.

Granted, a LEGO rubber-band, or worse, shooter could be built at $20 probably (depending on the size of one's collection).

Klingons would be cool, but I thought they did not have the forehead ridges until TNG? (Costume budget reasons, no?)

Now playing

Sooner or later Portal will become a reality...

Sounds great!

Ha, that was pretty neat.

Yeah sure it was silly, but entertaining, and I'm sure the kids loved it.

I'm not much into the seeking out new science news, but I like my sci-fi just like any other geek on here. Is that a fine balance?

@taodon: Well, Katniss is 16. Maybe a 14 year old could look the part, with Hollywood magic and all, but I would worry over choosing someone too young. That's it.

I agree that it will be tough to convey all the internal thoughts of Katniss, not to mention the narration so we know the culture and different stories of the characters from her point of view, but I think that everything else about the book makes for a good movie and that there should be a way do it well.

I definitely agree in skipping the first two seasons of Torchwood and just watching Children of Earth. Season 3 was one of the best things I had ever watched, but the first two episodes of TW did not really appeal to me and I do not mind skipping everything else.

"the Daleks back my baby brother into a corner and kill him."

But not before Andrew-Lee Potts becomes the 12th Doctor...

Well, you listed each of the series finale cliffhangers from the rebooted series, but I might have chosen Rise of the Cybermen for season 2 and included Silence in the Library with season 4, not to mention how awesome The Time of Angels ended.

@ginnymcqueen: It's the ambiguous ending that does it. Starts to make you think of what points in the movie make it reality and what points convince you it is a dream. That will then make you want to see it again so you can stop second-guessing yourself. (Which, of course, does not really help. Yet it does.)

So it almost sounds like it is two miniseries but the first arc will tie in with the second arc.

Now I want to visit Chicago and visit this shop...

So how does this work in the Stargate universe? Gate travel is limited to one galaxy, but with this you could essentially travel to the inner galaxy at half the distance to crossing to the other side of the same galaxy...
