And I wasn’t convinced that anybody that had to worry about Trump possibly being elected wasn’t going to vote either, but here we are. Voter depression works, and is proven to work. The GOP is demoralized as HELL right now.

It’s a bit of a misconception that Texas is a hardline GOP state - its many urban centers have always been rampantly Democrat. Texas flipping was probably always a matter of time, and now just appears to be the right time. O’Rourke is running a fantastic campaign, too, which means he doesn’t have to simply be ‘not Ted…
There is a very good reason for targeting the so-called die hard Trump voters - to depress their vote (different from suppress!). Demoralize them. Make another small % of them decide to not bother with voting in November. Depress enough of the vote, and Beto O’Rourke wins, and Texas goes BLUE!
It was a pizza parlor. Not a sports/music/entertainment venue. And claiming EA should’ve somehow known the guy was unstable is just bizarre. I get the ‘they should’ve had security’ thing even if I think it’s a dumb argument, but that’s an absolutely bizarre argument.
Fun fact! Auto tariffs between the US and Canada were originally lifted in 1965 through Canada-United States Automotive Products Agreement, signed by Lyndon Johnson.
Ah yes, the real culprit is how society has allowed millennials to get so soft, and the corrupting influence of... participation awards?
Based on many responses, it seems a lot of folks also believe I am a nihilist and actually don’t want to do anything about guns, and how dare I suggest that security theater is just that - theater.
Heh, I love how people misread my post so much, believing that I’m saying that ‘oh we should just do nothing because it’s inevitable.’
Man, you really got a serious case of ligma when it comes to the TSA. I don’t what to tell ya. You and Giuliani would certainly get along great, if nothing else.
Honestly, I’m sick as a dog and unable to sleep. I missed the last day of work before the long weekend due to feeling like death warmed over. It’s 4 am, I can barely breath through my nose, and my throat feels like the Mojave.
‘Most starred comment’ man... who cares about stars? I’ve always been an asshole. Like many other Americans, it is, in fact, a point of pride.
You’re going on so much about 9/11, I’m worried I’m speaking to Rudy Giuliani, here. I really, really do not care what you think about the TSA, man.
If ‘unhinged’ is what passes for anyone that desires real gun legislation, then yeah, sure, I’m unhinged. Whatever, champ.
Oh go play in traffic, snowflake.
There’s a multitude of data out there going over how utterly useless the TSA is, and it’s not an unpopular opinion these days to completely reform the agency. Claiming that I believe there should be ‘no security’ is utterly disingenuous and, like many others here, a complete twisting of my words. I don’t give a single…
And perhaps I’m interested in getting corporate money and lobbying out of politics as much as possible. That’s my ‘platform,’ as it were, and my political stance. At the very least, the overturning of Citizens United. It’s as likely as universal healthcare in America, after all.
1) I’d like it if Germans got gun money out of their politics too
Aggressive gun and ammunition control has and always will be the answer, alongside the complete removal of gun lobby (and other corporate) money from political campaign contributions and bill lobbying.
Don’t ‘son’ me. My point was that metal detectors, security checkpoints, bagchecks, and most significantly of all, a ‘good guy with a gun’ are all utterly useless against a mass shooter interested in killing themselves.
Nah I’m good. The constant, milquetoast cries for bullshit quarter-measures (security checkpoints aren’t even worthy of being called a half-measure against a mass shooter) are completely useless and frankly, straight up harmful as they continue to ignore the real solution.
