Give it another year or two and Twitter won’t be a platform anyways - they’re hemorrhaging money for that exact reason. Monetizing it is basically impossible.

Well, the easier battle to fight is probably the one that involves having kids go long distances to be at better schools, since the fight for actually improving substandard schools is enormously difficult, to say nothing that it requires huge amounts of money. And lord knows how hard it is to get a politician to raise

You are right, I definitely spoke poorly there.

DeVos, is that you? What the shit lol

You are suggesting that instead of desegregation, we provide public money to low-income families so they all attend ritzy private schools if they desire?

See, it’s just so... confusing to me because my instinct is to try to appeal to a GOP member’s wallet in these sorts of situations. Nothing will come of shouting ‘RACIST’ in their face, but so often these guys are all about huge monetary interests... so I keep telling myself that the best argument I can make is to

Unfortunately I went off and did some digging on my own - a VP can indeed be a family member.

I suppose I should explain what I mean by shortsightedness a bit better - racism as a policy of segregation is shortsighted because it actively makes an economy worse. Education standards lower, business productivity suffers, the housing market is worse, and crime rises.

Shot in the dark here, and also asking because I literally do not know - I don’t think a family member CAN be appointed to VP, can they?

I feel like this is among the most important and poignant takeaways from all this:

This would all be well and good, if Sessions had not rather explicitly stated immediately afterwards ‘I did not have communications with the Russians.’ There’s not much wiggle room there that I can see.

Well, I mean I did straight up ask ‘am I reading too much into this?’. There are folks who take political correctness to the degree that they’ll claim naming somebody’s nationality is offensive. Which is, of course, utterly absurd.

So our AG committed perjury during his appointment hearing?

The cosplayer is Chinese?

That’s not how our border even works, it’s not ‘open’ and becoming a US citizen is a years-long process, as is getting refugee status, you comically unreliable waffle iron.

I don’t understand how the Dems could possibly be blocking his confirmations. The GOP has an unprecedented amount of control right now. They could ramrod every single confirmation in a couple days if they wanted to.

Empty embassies is perhaps misleading, though it’s the language that was used by UN officials. There are permanent staffers there, but they’ve been barred from speaking to any press or foreign officials and have no decision making power.
