I know Ninja Theory from Heavenly Sword and Enslaved. I loved those games. Haven’t played Hellblade yet, but will once it hits XGP. I was never a fan of the Devil May Cry games at all, whether it was originals or DmC.

Very much this. The more i play it (and i’ve played about 40 hours) the more i’m convinced its a bad game that is still a wonderful experience. All the gamey stuff is bad. But over all? Over all its amazing and i love the time i spend in it. But its real real bad at doing game stuff. 

I disagree. The world and characters are rather fantastic on their own. No one think any less of the game game if you didn’t need to clean your guns.

Are there any mobile games put out by major developers/publishers that *don’t* have microtransactions? The only ones I can think of are some Square-Enix ports, and even then people complain because they cost more than 99 cents.

Kirk, this is easily the best game review I’ve ever read, but also the best writing of any kind that I’ve read on this website. I enjoyed your creative narrative prose over the the technical trappings of FPS and other “data.”
