I think everyone’s missing the point here. You’re gonna end up with one-tricks or shitty “mains” at some point, so just learn to deal with it. You’re gonna win some of those games, you’re gonna lose some of those games, because or despite some one’s gimmicky preference/play style. Just do your best to make it work and

I see we found the Genji one-trick :P

Aside from tugging on the ol’ heartstrings (what? I’ve got something in my eye), stories like this serve as a reminder that art of all kinds has the power to touch the lives of those who consume it—but we should also remember that fans and their reactions can have a significant impact on the creators of that art as

You are right. Nobody should ever talk about anything that has ever been discussed elsewhere! Quality commenting!

Ha, I read all but Kingdom. Yay.

...you’ve clearly missed some of the folks who show up to Ren Faires/Cons, then...

I envy you that.

Not really all that broad. Discrimination—as a belief system and a practice—proceeds from pretty much the same psychological setup, irrespective of its target.

But, hey, oversimplify the thing until it hits a level you can mock, and then be sure to smugly congratulate yourself on it. That’s a good look.

I think arnheim covered everything. Not even mad. Just... Feel sad and disappointed you went through all that work.

Also, because I missed this earlier: there actually is something more pathetic: the fact that you made your account specifically to post this “other people are happy, and I’m butthurt because I’m a miserable asshole” comment.

So what you’re saying is that you’d like video games to be regulated in a manner similar to how alcohol is, where there are limits on how much you can buy, which stores can sell them, whether or not you can be using them in public, where they can have additional taxes placed on them, where there are age limits imposed

The only people that loot boxes etc... ‘prey’ on are those who are incapable of delaying their own gratification.

Now playing

reminds me of this cute short I stumbled on one day.

The guy’s actively dismissing replies that get after him for his insipid commentary. I wouldn’t waste the breath on him.

Still dismissing folks calling out your insipid, uninspired take?

Such bravery. Courage of convictions wow.

The joke being that there will always be a divide between newcomers to a franchise and the “old guard” who will alternately attempt to welcome and help new folks, and those who will shit all over them for not having gotten in “before it was cool.”

Y’know, sort of like people who feel the need to shit on jokes they do

Because it’s funny and makes us laugh.

Exactly the point. There’s far more to it than calories for sure. The hypocrisy I see is how society makes fun of obese people when they claim they have some sort of abnormality but are more than happy accept someone on the opposite end of the spectrum who eats in excess and is not obese for it. No one ever cries,

Jealousy, pure jealousy.

And i think we can all agree, fuck those people.
