I was going to be glib or combative like everyone else, but I think I'll try an earnest response.

Cat's cute and all, but WHAT KIND OF MONSTER FILMS IN PORTRAIT MODE!?

k2 is getting safer every year, though Annapurna is 1 in 2 summits are fatalities.

Uhh, thousands? Only around 4000 people have climbed Everest total, most of which are Sherpas, and around 250 or so people have died.

Someones sex life (or lack of) is not an indicator of quality of character. Things like if they blame women for it (and then kill them) IS, but being a virgin in your 20's does NOT mean someone is a misogynist, and having 100 partners before 21 doesn't make someone a whore. You're implying that people shouldn't be

I dont know if being smack in the middle of the bell curve makes you short :)

Sometimes I feel like im in the minority of people that think bagpipes sound really pretty.

tl;dr is right, you didnt read it! At no point did the article condemn the whole of the culture of the Indian subcontinent (which has a greater population and diversity than north and south america combined). Nor did the article condemn people who do practice what was described in the article.

What the article DID do

when people are telling you to fuck off, they aren't telling men to fuck. I've never felt excluded from feminist discussion or the broader feminist movement. Sure, I've had ideas challenged (with varying levels of civility), sometimes when I'm wrong and sometimes when I'm right. I've never felt like I was being

Lots of us do chastise our friends when they make misogynistic remarks and reduce women to their appearance. Does that mean you will start to show some empathy?

One could even argue that the gap is bad for WOMEN not men. Society disproportionately leads women to pursue a Bachelors degrees where they incur massive debt just to get an increasingly irrelevant degree. Its a slightly dishonest argument, but it illustrates that you cant say "fewer men = bad."

Phrasing the gender gap in universities the way it is presupposes that a bachelors degree occupies the same role it did 20 years ago.

I've seen that before, but these understandings of another language are cultural too. Adriano's perception of english could be different than a Chinese persons perception.

Also, Adriano speaks english quite well.

Not to diminish the evils of Slavery, but I can certainly think of a few modern nations whose evil at least matches that.

I am also. In addition to being racist all by itself it carries with it HEAVY subtext and history.

"NBC shifted their line-up thusly: "

Thusly isn't a word, just regular old thus is the correct word to you here.

NBC shifted their line-up thus:

I've wondered the same thing about English (If French is spoken fast enough I wont follow and all I'll get is the sounds). I've accepted that it's a perspective I'll never be able to have.

Though, I've found that Swedish has a lot of sound similarities to English (lots of shared heritage). Swedish to me sounds like

It's not really what swedish sounds like to me. I think its what swedish sounds like to someone whos never actually heard swedish before.

1) She's pretty adorable

2) We love these kind of articles. The Winter olympics are the only time you guys pay attention to us.

Look, I wont say Canadian beer is better, you guys have an AMAZING microbrew scene and our mass produced beer is just as pissy as yours (probably worse even).

But we have far more than just Unibroue. Moskoka, Amsterdam and Flying Monkeys in Ontario, Half Pints in Manitoba and Big Rock in Alberta all make great beer.
