Hehe, i understand. I believe most JRPGs use "Anime art style" as an excuse for bad plot, and to make it "look cool" at first, until you discover the overdone clichés and regret your purchase.

I agree completely with you on the second part. I wouldn't mind a "mediocre" battle mechanic if the story was well written.

Although i like some of KEMKO's games, i believe they can do MUCH more.
Hell, see the Final Fantasy ports and Chrono Trigger. Amazing games with Amazing story and gameplay.

It may be cool and all for nostalgia, but the "8bit" theme is becoming overused (it might be only me)... i really want a cool JRPG other than tales of xillia for the PS3 or PC. I think using 8bit is an excuse for pixelated/squared graphics and generic hero story.
