I would too, but it seems like the Army is shredding documents related to their performance.
What they are afraid of is a slipery slope argument. Once women start not meeting the same standards, the standards start getting called into question. They start getting looser so that women can meet that standard to meet some sort of quota.
The other big concern is that the standard will be lowered to achieve the objective of having women in the job whether they can pass the higher standard or not.
They lower the standard for female soldiers.
The concern that is probably reflected in the 80% number is that they suspect the standard will be adjusted down for female candidates.
The problem is nobody believes those high physical standards are going to be continually enforced if they stop women from getting into the unit. There’s been a huge controversy on the special treatment women where given during Ranger School, and there’s no reason to believe that instructors aren’t going to be forced…
