dude what

The hyperbolic character of his assessment leads me to wonder how long he’s been familiar with mechanical engineering

Not surprised since they seem to be rushing them out. Fanboys will find issue with this analysis and drop bullshit defenses. On another note, the other night near Downtown LA I saw a Model 3 that had been rear ended on the freeway by a GT-R. The GT-R looked to not have a scratch. The whole rear bumper of the Model 3

so are there any positives to living in minnesota? between the massive amount of snow, being the united states “little Canada”, and now this seems like a pretty good reason to avoid it at all costs

Oh, what now? You expect Governments to actually consider the negative consequences of their actions? Maybe even research their ideas before they run with new ideas that run counter-intuitive to centuries of economic history? Don’t be silly.

You’re right, Europe does it better.

A depreciating asset is never an investment but is always a liability. The term “invest” is misused so much lately its not funny. A car is almost never an investment - a ‘69 well kept Mustang is an investment, a Honda Fit as is the conclusion of the article, is not.

You’re responding to arguments that I never made! If you need a loan, like I did, you should get one. If you can manage to pay cash, do that. This was a post working through my own feelings about having had a loan. It’s not terribly complicated!

Erik did it right here. He bought an affordable car, paid it off in a reasonable amount of time, now he has a reliable, practical, fun car that’s all his. The problem with finance is when you do it the way most Americans seem intent on doing it: with endless seven, eight and nine year loans at some outrageous rate.

Look at it this way: People who go around the gates when the train is coming will eventually die out, and there will be no more accidents.

45 hours to print is slow, but so is designing all the production elements you mentioned above. It is also expensive. In general people forget that when you design something, someone also has to design a production process specific to it. From my (non-engineering) understanding, cutting much of this out by 3d printing

Until NASCAR changes the Chase again.

I’m very excited for the day when our generation is spending six figures on, like, a “third off the line” Honda Prelude SH at auction.

Yes and well put... see Mark Martin (sad to say other than Busch)

Good thing it’s Bugatti we’re talking about.... I suspect they don’t need to make tens of thousands of them.

3rd Gear: “We don’t see a place for aluminum in our trucks because we spent too long literally bashing it and our egos are too big to admit we were wrong”

Piss, tobacco, and somehow tobacco-piss.

Just don’t smell like Paris.

I don’t think they’re going to be inclined to spend the money...

I guess Michigan should ramp up road repairs soon...
