2 stories I can attest to being true. Having worked for a major car manufcaturer in their parts division, I can verify that competitive cars purchased had the living shit “tested” out of them. I did some of that myself. Never, ever buy a former test car, never.
Leftovers? The Fiat 500 is a leftover? The Mini is a leftover? No, they aren’t. The Fiat sells 190K cars a year and growing worldwide and 12K and shrinking in the US. The Mini sells 380K worldwide and 37K in the US.
Go ahead, keep up the meme that Americans buy SUV’s because carmakers FORCE us to. There is no basis in fact for that.
I grew up thinking these cars were cool. After graduating engineering school, I changed my mind.
That is some great reporting and writing, Stef! Thanks!
It is only terrible if you don’t read and understand the contract you signed before modeling for photos.
No, wrong....
The problem is not just you are not the demographic in the US. There are only about 100 people IN the demographic in the US that would buy this.
I saw commercials in the side-by-side so....
Owned one in an ‘84 C4. I pulled the tranny out and worked on the OD because it was making noise. Re-assembled it, reinstalled it, still made noise.
It is a $1000 parts car for someone crazy enough to swap the driveline into a rust free CA or AZ car. Very, very small market of crazies
Racism come in all directions from all races. Proof is this article. A great example is your own quote;
rac·ism
This wasn’t an accident. He rode beyond his level of skill. The proof is that he left the track. It is a track day, he should not be racing.
I hope that is sarcasm... either that, or you are just stupid.
The worst kind of racist is one who believes he is not racist.
OK, I will state the obvious....
You mean BAD Karma, right? Beautiful but shitty car. The “shitty” part killed them.
That sort of driver - notice I didn’t say “racer” because he was definitely NOT racing - should stick to track days. Cheaper, with less risk to his equipment.
