They could have obtained that healthcare exactly as I did before the ACA came into force, through the open insurance marketplace. As you should know, those ACA subsidies are too small to offset the increase in costs from 2012 to 2013 for someone earning $75K a a year and are zero for $200K.

Glad it worked out for you. I did the same thing 2 years before the ACA went into effect. I had affordable insurance with a $3500 deductible. Once the ACA went into effect for 2013, my health insurance cost and my deductible did, too. So far since 2013, my costs are up over 300% for my insurance with $6500 deductible.
