Knowing the price of Lego nowadays, it probably would cost $160 instead.
Welp, that’s the price you pay for junctioning GFs.
That’s what happens when you rely on Guardian Forces
In an ideal world, every game would look like an Arc System Works game. They’ve absolutely perfected the presentation. This game doesn’t look bad, but I vastly prefer the Arc approach when dealing with characters who have been living as sprites since their inception over 3D models.
I actually wish it just used real sprites like the old games. I love the Arc Sys style, but I miss true pixel fighters.
This looks fun, but it makes me wish they did it the Arc System Works way. This game would be 10 times more awesome if it looked more like GGXrd or DBFZ.
Perhaps you can explain what 1-Seg is to non-Japanese readers? All I know is that it’s a digital tv standard, that’s different from what most of the modern world is using right now, especially when some countries have not used analog in quite a while.
FF14 and Guild Wars 2. Both are great games.
Don’t forget Final Fantasy XIV, which is still going strong, as well as Ultima Online, Guild Wars 2, Runescape, Everquest 1 and 2, TERA, Black Desert Online, The Lord of the Rings Online, Wizard101, A Tale in the Desert, Order & Chaos 1 and 2...
Your forgetting Final Fantasy XIV. They just hit 14 million players.
Okay even if this is bait I can’t stay silent. WTF, are you kidding? Ignoring the fact that due to the sheer amount of crap happening over there, they might not even have the staff that’s needed for it and Kyoto itself isn’t doing to good, this was clearly done out of respect to those affected, today probably isn’t…
Yeah, I played the game for the PVE and raids, and I got really sick of seeing my favorite weapons nerfed into the ground in the name of PvP balance. I will never understand why they can’t keep PvP changes separate from PvE.
Definitely hoping for a follow-up to this article if it is nerfed. As I’ve mentioned a few places, I’m waiting for the perfect jump-in point with D2, and while I think it’s now, Bungie’s nerfs in D1 drove me f***ing insane because so many of my favorite things were nerfed thanks to PvP, even though I almost entirely…
This is such a turn off for a game. I don’t even want to read through that graphic to see what version I should get, I just don’t want the game now.

fantastic write up... “social media seems to thrive on the endlessly renewable resources of drama and infighting, but there is no callout post big enough to take them down. Every callout, even this one, is just more content.” and that is the hell we’ve created for ourselves
I will be linking to this article (and the previous one) for my students during the fall semester when I cover the subject of plagiarism. I try to have a new “real-world” story for them every semester, to demonstrate that plagiarism has professional and legal consequences well beyond the academic sphere, and this one…
Counterpoint: It’s been called N.E.S. in English since forever, Ars Technica had an article that pretty much cements that. One game vs. a shitload of precedent, the precedent wins. https://arstechnica.com/gaming/2018/08/n-e-s-vs-ness-nintendo-complicates-the-pronunciation-debate/
Counterpoint 2: Additionally, I refuse…
Eeeeh.....but it has the possible effect of telling Capcom that it doesn’t really matter what they do—people will still buy the game.
