Still have my reader and cards too. You put the e-reader on the GBA, plugged the GBA into your Gamecube, and scanned the cards by swiping them through the reader. You’d receive gifts in-game from it at a kiosk in the bank/mail room. I remember scouring ebay for some of the more rare cards.
