It tastes bad TO YOU. It tastes delicious to me. Traditionally you do not eat raw or not well cooked meat in a tropical environment. That thing is what you can get away with in a cool environment. Even smoked and dried meats are not eaten like they, they are cooked before consumption. Cooking also changes the proteins…

Yea, eat uncooked meat (fine, barely cooked) in tropical heat. I’ve grown used to it now but I grew up thinking Westerners were mad. It still makes me shudder. Rare meat tastes raw. I just can't.

It’s the dye. I avoid anything red (bright) in the US. I don’t come across it much outside of the US. It makes me itch terribly.

Proteins get denatured by different processes. It might be that the person is fine with the protein in one form but not another. I know someone who can’t eat raw apples but is fine with juice and baked apples. The baking turns the protein into something else.

I prefer well done meat. I come from a tropical culture. We cook our meats. I prefer the taste of well cooked meat.

What do you mean out of ignorance? You can’t control people’s taste buds. I do not like rare steak. I’ve tried it and dislike it. It tastes like I’m chewing blood and is not cooked.
