Fiat, with its 500 and 500L-only lineup, is so unable to achieve mass success in the US.  It's products simply aren't up to the task of mass-sales.  Alfa, on the other hand, has the ability to push into the lower level lux market with Volvo and Infiniti.  There is a place for Alfa there.
