I don't understand why they don't simply decide to fly these until their airframes are worn out, then either rectify them or cannibalize them.

Usual trip was East coast of the US to Lajes Field, then to Europe, then SWA, all with tanker support. Roughly 8 hour ferry sorties. We would launch the jets, wait for a certain amount of time to make sure there were no issues after takeoff that would cause them to turn around, then hop on a C-17 and race the flight

Love the Spooky

That would be very accommodating of them.

No love for the Herky Bird?

cue. Unless they're lining up to leave.

Because it is far more profitable (for the government industrial machine) to have ten platforms that each do one job adequately than one platform that can do all ten jobs supremely.

Professional photographer here... Broad daylight, the shutter speed of the camera is going to be very high (above 1/1000th of a second) but still shooting at 30 FPS most likely. If it just happened to snap a frame during one of those 30ths of a second (which it seems to have) it would be relatively clear (like it is).

I'm trying to imagine this gear going from static to rolling in almost an instant, as a landing condition causes. That would be a violent event. I wonder how many times this thing broke in testing? That puff of smoke you see from tires on conventional landing gear upon touchdown, thats a lot of force at play.

I was never a fan of them shutting down the F-22 line. At least the F-22 wasn't compromised to fit across different branches attempting to replace 8 aircraft. The F-22 was the successor of the F-15 role and that's it. One of its major hiccups during procurement was requirements creep. The government kept wanting new

I like it when we kill bad people. ISIS is horrible; we should be celebrating.

Shouldn't we be happy to be striking targets that happen to be our enemy? I'm sorry you don't think we should do anything against the terrorists that beheaded two American journalists.

They're also there to protect coalition aircraft from Assad's advanced Russian SAM batteries, in the event that he decides to use them.

That is an AWESOME headline!

Ask 1945 Japan how effective an aerial campaign can be.

Because thats now how armies work. Its not a democracy. You join, you follow orders. Soldiers dont form committees and "explore their feelings" on issues like this. Also most soldiers arent eager to go fight anywhere. So where does that leave us? With in ineffective military with no actual command or control.

People knew it was Winston when they noticed that nearby FSU campus police were looking the other way.
