The US Navy is building 3 Zumwalt class ships.
Most likely why the new Zumwalt's are armed with the new advanced gun system and also the reason why the US Navy is investing in rail gun tech.
Starcraft has taught us that a carrier filled with drones will smash a Battlecruiser. :))
Imagine a swarm of highly maneuverable stealthy UCAVs firing everything at this beast. Besides not wasting valuable ace pilots, any UCAV will have better flying capabilities. No more G limitation in evasive actions or attack…
The armament of the Kirovs is indeed frightening, but it does come with its own curious drawbacks. It is immensely, immensely difficult to effectively coordinate that many separate and over-lapping systems on a single platform. The Kirovs are simply capable of putting more firepower into the air than they are capable…
In the PC game Harpoon there was a scenario where a Kirov-led battlegroup dukes it with an Iowa-led battlegroup. I played it a bunch. Each time it came down to the Iowa surviving the Russian missile salvo with most of her escorts being mission killed and then as her 16 inch guns come into range, she obliterates each…
I never really knew much or cared for naval armament, but I started playing Wargame: Red Dragon, I finally understood how crazy naval battles could be, almost like pure chaos sometimes:
Nashville is no longer a Southern city? Seriously?
I'm gonna duck out of here before things get serious...
What. did. i. just. read?
Understandably, Toyota may have wanted to wait until employees were notified of changes before yesterday's report that Toyota is moving to Texas. Or maybe they wanted to soften the blow by letting some news leak?
The waves of people moving into Texas would probably disagree with you.
And other manufacturers don't "kill a few people", recall millions of calls and clog streets with beige cars....What an idiot.
California is the aging prom queen who used to be able to tell the boys how high to jump.
not the only company moving to Texas. Many others are also, including State Farm. It has a business friendly government, great family values and, compared to California and New York/New Jersey is an inexpensive place to live. ( for the record, I do not live in Texas, but i did go to school there)
Anyone know any more?
I don't give a rat's ass where they go as long as Oakbrook Toyota gives me back my CDs that were in my car's CD player when they sent it somewhere for refurbishing after selling me a new, possibly refurbished CD player. Thanks Jalopnik for putting up a Toyota story so that I might be able to commit this little bit of…
Yep, every reason to move to Texas, and every reason to move out of California.
Excellent news for California! There is absolutely no room for capitalist private companies in the workers' utopia. The transformation is almost complete!
Why move to Texas from California? Lets see: Cheap housing/labor/corporate tax rates. The state incentives companies to move here, hence the # of jobs in that state. The weather and scenery may be better out West, but at the end of the day, the $$ talks.
