Honestly, all what this console war is doing to me (may it be from gamers, studios or manufacturers), is putting me away from them all.

Gameplay looks alright, but I'm in a shooter fatigue and this doesn't really seem to offer anything new. Graphically on par with modern PC games.

Exactly. The answer to that is in the specs. No amount of optimization is going to fix slower CPU and memory clocks.

I know I'd fucking care if I spent 500 dollars on a next-gen console only to find out that it runs current-gen games at current-gen resolutions.

i agree to some degree but nobody likes buyer's remorse and having to swallow that you made the wrong decision on a device that costs $400-500 is not something consumers like especially gaming consumers.

I imagine people care because when deciding which console to spend $400-500 on, one important question is "which of these will have the best-performing multiplatform games in 5 years?"

Go play any of the other cods that have come out since say Modern Warfare 2 in 2009. Ghosts will probably be about the same as that.
