The original EverQuest is still getting expansions. Warcraft won't be going anywhere for a long, long time. Blizzard will slow the updates to a crawl and they might eventually decide to make it free to play, but I fully expect them to keep it running for at least another decade.

The last one I remember was more than a few months ago, it was summer 2012 at Riot's Season 2 World Finals. Remember, this was their response to the initial complaint. They showed a complete unwillingness to understand the actual nature of the complaint. It's tone deafness like that that's going to continually make people like me unable to stand them.
