I identify with The North/Starks as well. Growing up in Northern Michigan I can relate cold and sometimes bleak landscapes described in the book.

I seem to recall Martin saying something about how he wished he could have made Rickon a bigger part of the story in the books. So if they do stay together in the show, maybe that's Martin's way of exploring other ideas he had about Rickon's role in things.

The level they took it to is certainly debatable. And I'm not entirely convinced the scene had to go into the territory it did. But on the flip side it did drive home the idea of what a complete and utter shit Joffrey is.

I disagree that the Joffrey scene was just for eye candy. I'm more in the camp that the scene was a substitute for all the awful things Joffrey does to Sansa in the books. Seeing as the actress who plays Sansa is underage, it would be difficult to film all the crap that he puts her through. So they condensed that into

So because that line may or may not have been used in a decades old movie (I haven't watched The Godfather II in years) Maisie and Charles don't deserve any recognition for delivering their lines extremely well?

That was an awesome scene. I'd even venture that Maisie Williams and Charles Dance deserve an Emmy nod for that exchange.

Thanks! :)

When I posted I fully admitted it was outside the general idea that everyone else was doing. But seeing as there are no "rules" I don't see why it really matters.

:D

True. And as you mentioned in your comment above, "wealth" can have very different meanings in these various fictional universes.

It depends then, on how large the original fortune was. Given the history of House Lannister, I don't think a fortune in the hundreds of billions of dollars is out of the question. So even if Tytos lost a fare amount of that, I'd still argue that Tywin's assets are much greater than Cullen's $40 billion.

Okay, found a more precise timeline on House Lannister. According the GoT Wiki House Lannister was established several thousand years before the start of the first book.

Good points. I've only read the first book in the Twilight series so I don't know what other types of assets the Cullen's have in terms of land holdings and businesses. Whereas the Lannisters have numerous property holdings and business investments.

I am somewhat skeptical that Carlisle Cullen has more money than Tywin Lannister. Cullen is roughly 400 years old, and while I couldn't find an exact time period, House Lannister is one of the oldest in Westeros, so for the sake of argument I'm assuming the line is much older than 400 years. Even if the concept of

You might be right. Watching it again, at the very end, it looks like there is a red and white striped cone next to the hole. I guess the question is, was the cone there before or after she fell in.

It's nice that the caution blocks are the same grey color as everything else. A bright orange would stand out too much.

Stop bringing logic into this! :P

I'm curious as to why the Emperor looks like The Wishmaster.

I've got some bad news for you...

Indeed. Kids have to learn where meat comes from at some point, right?
