Where would you place Shmendrick from The Last Unicorn? He doesn’t seem to have control over his magic (Evidence #1: The horny tree with boobs) but can achieve surprisingly great things.

All in all I must say this is one of the most wholesome and friendly discussions I’ve seen on the internet in a while.

No Fizban the Fabulous in the Gods level entities? If Raistlin Majere makes it, I’d think that Fizban would be in there too.

I’m not sure your listing is right, but I’m damn sure it isn’t wrong. A tip of the hat to you.

Vecna < Nagash < Granny Weatherwax

Surprising omission of Fistandantilus...

Well, I don’t really know anything about the actual D&D games. I just read many of the books in my HS days. And in the Legends series he embarks on quest to ascend to godhood. It’s ultimately undone with some time travel, but he does succeed in not only becoming a literal god he kills all the other gods.

Comparing differ universes is difficult, but I think Raistlin is definitely underrated on your list especially with the likes of Yoda and Voldemort ahead of him.  In one story line Raistlin kills all the gods... and there were quite a few... and ultimately all life.

Wizard Howl! He has the power of a fire demon.

Constantine is difficult to place, certainly the comics Constantine does not exactly have any magic powers. He can carry out a ritual from a grimoire competently enough (although he has been known to leave out the cats) but essentially he’s a weapons grade bullshitter, he is as powerful as he can manage to make

Except that you know that Granny Weatherwax belongs at the top of that list...She could slap all the others into last week, if she so chose.

This is a solid ranking but I need you to explain how Yoda is a wizard.

I mean, technically yes. The Genesis Torpedo did eventually eradicate all life and sort of blow up the planet, so... climate change wouldn’t really matter at that point.

This seems right. That said, Star Trek has encountered many planets that have not yet resolved issues like climate change.

600 million people died in the Third World War and its aftereffects. First Contact with the Vulcans arrested a lot of the damaged and greatly shortened the recovery (which scared the hell out of the Vulcans, it took them a thousand years to recover from their nuclear war). By rhe mid 22nd century the Earth was all

I don’t remember if it’s in Trek IV or the episodes of Voyager where they traveled back to the 90s, but at some point they did identify being in the late 20th Century through pollution.

With the Genesis Device, who cares about climate change?

I think the problem is that future timeline is still rooted in Trek’s 1960's emphasis on nuclear war - (either the one that happens in the mid 21st according to FC, or the Eugenics Wars, which supposedly took place in the 1990s, and were at one point also said to beWWIII”). Trek’s adherence to canon is trying them

Bingo. The lack of a Third World War mention in this piece is baffling.

Maybe this is when the Sisko returns.
