I reckon it's the other wsy around. WotC consulted on the movie, and oneD&D has been planned for a while. I reckon the movie has owlbear wildshaping because they planned that there would be some way to do that by the time it came out.

I certainly understood it as being the case that the old combadge needs to old password. I didn't for a moment think that wasn't their intent.
I kind of like that from the Titan’s captain's perspective its one of those episodes where an irresponsible admiral turns up and causes trouble. And he just goes "nope, not on my ship thank you very much!"
Yeah, a lot of people unsubscribed as a result of this, but not *millions of people* I don’t expect it to have a substantial impact on their bottom line, but it did show them what the very small, but very vocal online community thought. I was sorry I couldn’t unsubscribe, but I never signed up in the first place. I’m…
Its a weird series, I’ve enjoyed them all, but going from the gritty horror of pitch black to chronicles is certainly tonally jarring. It’s like if Star Wars was the sequel to Alienn....
This is excellent news. Releasing 5.1 under the CC license provides all the security the current 3rd party scene need to keep making amazing 5e content. Keeping the old OGL means that 5.0, 3.x and everything else released under it is on solid ground once more.
Hmm, this would seem to demonstrate that what they aren’t budging on is the threat of 5e retro clones. They acknowledged that you can keep selling what’s already published, but it seems clear that going forwards they want to tie publishers into their new 6e ecosystem. That’s not going to fly at this point and if that…
Yep we’ll have to agree to differ, and that is all well and good as far as i’m concerned. You do you.
I hate trying to watch 3d films and almost never choose to do so. However, I’m going to disagree with you here. Avatar is one of only three films I’ve ever watched where the 3d added a lot, and was an essential part of what made the film so compelling. Unlike most films it is used very intentionally nd creatively to…
Imhotep comes from the original 1932 version of the mummy, played by Boris Karloff. In that he is basically an immortal sorcerer who takes the bandages off right away and then acts more like Dracula. So in that respect the remake is quite close to the original Karloff interpretation. It probably drew more inspiration…
Agreed, for the most part. Another thing to consider though, is that while the literary versions of those characters are public domain universal does have a very iconic cinematic take n the characters. They wanted to leverage that, but in my opinion had two main issues. First they recognised that those old films were…
I secretly kind of want to see Abbott and Costello meet the Scorpion King.
It’s unlikely that list includes Paizo. They are big, but very little of what they produce is licensed under the 5e ogl. Except a few fairly new cross over products it’s almost all licensed under the original 3e ogl, which is, and has always been, irrevocable. Nothing Wizards change in ogl v6 or whatever they end up…
Agreed. You don’t watch Gods of Egypt because you think its going to be high drama or a nuanced adaptation of Egyptian myth, you watch it because it’s a silly bit if superheroic nonsense with a fun ancient egyptian twist. Bad movies can be pretty fun and if they made more Gods of Egypt movie s then I’d go watch them.…
Thanks! Yeah, I watched it all and enjoyed it enough, but I was always going to see it through. I have friends with alot less patience who I’d rather didn’t give up before it gets good. Looks like a useful list. I'll pass it along and see if that helps!
I love latter day clone wars and rebels, nd really want my friends to watch them. Trouble is this film is a terrible place to start. For folks who are sceptical of cartoons already it confirms all their biases that clone wars will be infantile and cringe worthy.
We’ll have to agree to differ there then. I see where you are coming from. In esb Luke goes to save his friends rather than completing his training, and suffers greatly as a result. In Jedi he is then ready to leave them on Endor and go to face Vader and the Emperor alone.
Agreed 100%!
I was really hoping that the test was going to be going back to Din, and i he'd turned his back on that he would have failed. I guess that's still possible, maybe?
I’ve seen plenty of commentary that Andor doesn’t feel like Star Wars, but watching the prison arc, I was very strongly reminded of a George Lucas film... I would be very interested to know whether they drew deliberate inspiration from THX 1138, as there are definite parallels there! I’ve yet to see anyone comment on…
