I accidentally read that as October ‘22, rather than October 22nd, and thought it was moving back another year! Glad to be wrong, but you should be a little more careful how you word your articles!

It’s great to see Venus getting so much attention there is a huge gulf in instrumentation between Mars and the moon with multiple orbiters and landers, and everywhere else with a mission every decade or so. We really need to get more probes out to the outer planets too! (And I say this as someone who mostly works on

If you don’t care what day of the week it releases, then clearly you’re not worried about watching it the moment it drops (many people are, but both are fair viewpoints).

Interesting, I was sure I’d read somewhere that it was set in the Delta Quadrant, but that sounds like quite an Alpha Quadrant line up.

I’ve seen an interview with Rothfuss where he claimed to have written all three books up front and it was just case of editing them all for publication. I don’t know if that was true or not, but I think that the thing a lot of people don’t realise is that “editing” in this context doesn’t mean copy editing. It is more

Thanks of the recommendation. I’ll check that out!

He has his moments!

True, I can’t imagine them trying to explain the distinction between the different races of norse gods, giants etc. without it slowing down the movie!

Thanks! Yeah, I know its too late. I used to be mildly annoyed when Stargate called them the “Asgard”, but I liked Stargate so much in every other respect that it more than made up for the aggravation. In marvel its both even more ridiculous, and the movies themselves are less “my thing” so it rankles more!

That’s fascinating. I’d not known that there was a deliberate parallel, but now that you point it out, I can absolutely see it! The lack of a clear archetype for wonderwoman clearly suggests that they needed more heavy hitting female superheroes back then to properly represent the different archetypes.

Thanks for the recommendation. I’ll check those out!

While I enjoy the marvel movies well enough, I really wish we’d get film of the norse myths which doesn’t take as many liberties. There is definitely room for both in today’s media landscape, but I worry that other studios aren’t likely to do a more serious norse mythology movie if it puts them in direct competition

In actual fact the single axis alignment system was from Original and basic D&D, by the time he was writing these attempts at novels d&d not only had the two axis system we know today, but the DMs guide included a graph on which to plot changes in your players alignments.

“We’ve never interferered”

What’s odd about the animation? It’s on parr with what you usually get for tabletop game trailers, like the recent warhammer ones.

While I agree it was a misstep, I can see what they were trying to do. In essence the film takes the focus off of the single mystical master and gives Strange 3 teachers, each of a different ethnicity. The ancient one is white, Mordo is black, and the Wong is Asian. It portrays it as a multicultural order of wizards

Slight errata... Age if Sigmar three is actually introducing a new destruction army. They’ve not given us much more than that to go on yet, but Death probably won’t get anything for a while now that the massive soulblight release is in progress. (Its basically Vampire Counts for AoS). The new faction seems like it

I don’t usually like to be down on things, but why?

Yeah, the first book isn’t the best. They get better, but really I’d say that Six of Crows is the better introduction to the world and the series, since it has a better cast of characters, a more interesting part of the setting, and the story while still a bit tropey is not your standard YA narrative. It does have

See the weird thing as a book fan is seeing everything around the show calling him “General Kirigan”all the time... I know, intellectually , that as commander of the Second Army he holds the rank of general. And I guess that’s his name, and I’m sure its mentioned in the books hete and there. But I swear in the books
