Remind me what we need this for, though? Or are we just replacing old busted with new hotness?
Okay, I thought Kinja had a private message system, and they don't. So I set up a burner email address, and if you email me there (with a real or burner) I'll respond with the email that Mr. Piff sent me.
Wow. Mr. Piff responded quickly. I'm realizing that posting the entirety of what he wrote to me in confidence may not be something he wants quoted across the internet. However, for anyone following (anyone at all?) the paraphrase is that they do indeed have manufacturer data, but it was never reviewed or published,…
Thanks for the link to the paper, but you do realize I already linked to the paper and the supporting documentation? :)
You have interjected your personal driving experience in order to yield a similar, but unequal result while failing to address the conclusion of the study
Yep, this is by far my favorite one, but only if it has the voice over. When he says things like "don't lift" All I can do is watch the video and think 'WTF do you mean don't lift?!!!!"
First off, props for reading what I wrote and making an intelligent response. Still, there is some confusion and misindformation, so I'll pen down a few more lines.
I'd challenge you to find where I used a stawman argument, but that would require to actually read what I wrote, which I realize you must think is below you at this point. Alternative you could use the normal fall back of those that can't support an argument and claim that it's "obvious" and that you don't have to…
This is where I stopped reading.
Software engineer bimmer drive here....but I am in Utah
You argue all the details you want, they observed a intersection and came away with the conclusion that drivers of luxury marks are more likely to commit traffic violations.
On average, there are more twats driving BMWs who have no business behind the wheel of a mildly powerful RWD car.
Has BMW started putting real limited slip differentials back in the non M cars again? Because the video shows a bunch of stuff that any E30 with an LSD could do (because it was actually an option) and my E46 can not, because it doesn't have an LSD.
It is quite the hair. Let me split it further: The date a car was actually built generally only matters when you go to buy it. When we talk about car technology or think of car models, we generally think of their inception into the world. The E36 was designed and birthed in the early 90s and will thus always be an…

I believe the E30 M3 still has more road racing wins than any single chassis/model of 911.
And cruise control that makes SENSE. Push forward, go faster/set. Pull back slow down. Push down turn off. pull up resume. Simple, straight forward. I drove a mid 90's suburban for a few years and the cruise control made use of push buttons and slider buttons, extremely unintuitive.
The thought of having to stop on the down grade probably never occurred to this idiot until he actually needed to stop, but then it was too late
