This is why I’m waiting to see what the data says, but keep in mind that none of these companies want to be remembered as the company that released a “bad” vaccine.

I feel like I post this on a regular basis now, but the X-Wing Alliance Upgrade project modding group has been going strong for 20 years and is still upgrading the game’s visuals to this day:

I wonder how this will effect Doom developer id. They historically refuse to use DirectX for PC games and the developers have a particular hate for it. Will MS force them to use DX instead of Vulkan for Windows games? If so, will the developers leave the company?

(ID started using OpenGL before DX even came out and

I’ve heard this several times, but I have never once had to contact Steam support for anything, but with Origin I’ve had several issues throughout the years.

It may just have been that they didn’t feel the need to acknowledge it. Other mario games that appear in the “family portrait”, but not in the reel are:

They are claiming Apple has a monopoly on Software distribution on Apple hardware. I’m honestly not sure how that argument will play out in the long term, but if either the Apple or Google case were to be a win for Epic, it would be Apple due to the level of control they have on their users.

The key difference between the two is that you can’t install anything on iOS without Apple’s App Store. You don’t have any such restriction on PC.

As much as I don’t like Epic, this is definitely something that needed to be addressed. We can complain about the Play Store and Steam all day long, but neither Google nor Valve have such a stranglehold on their respective platforms that it’s their way or the highway on Android and PC.

The difference here is that Steam, Epic Games Store, Origin, etc don’t block a 3rd party game from being installed outside of their platform as they don’t control the OS of said PC. So if I don’t like Steam’s practices, I can put my game on one or more other stores and/or sell it directly.

A programmer dug into the crash dump files and information can be found in this article:

everything that we know of. Less than 2 months ago we didn’t know that Paper Mario existed.

Unions unfortunately don’t solve everything, and sometimes make things worse, depending on the situation. Not to mention there’s nothing stopping a company from just slowing pushing unionized workers out.

My Father-in-law worked for Kellogg’s and was part of the union there. The union did a lot of good things for

Being a good person and perpetuating a system that is morally wrong are mutually exclusive things.

I was kind of hoping the New Republic Flagship would be a Nadiri Starhawk-class Battleship (seen in the trailer a few times) that’s built from salvaged Imperial II-class Star Destroyers

how popular previous X-Wing and TIE fighter games have been

That is more a preference issue than anything else. Many Doom players play on PC, and a wide variety of configurations at that. Not everyone, not even the majority, of gamers care about top-of-the-line graphics. This, however, looks like a lazy port or a result of poor optimization in the main game.

Why would you recode a game using a programming language meant for Data Science?

After discussing with the council members, we made the decision to go with the GPL license to ensure compatibility with projects like CnCNet
and OpenRA. Our goal was to deliver the source code in a way that would be truly beneficial for the community, and we hope this will enable amazing community projects for

While I know that Sony and MS do some custom shenanigans with their console hardware, it is still largely an x86_64 platform and what makes it shine through is that consoles are limited to playing games. PCs are designed to do a multitude of tasks and as such the OS software limits access to the hardware to prevent

I haven’t done anything professional at the hardware level in a long, long time so I wasn’t sure if someone had found some dumb way to hook an OS into the UEFI boot process.
