As bad as this is, it's not all doom and gloom for Nintendo. As reported in an Article at IGN, Nintendo has over $5 Billion in reserves and another $5 Billion in bonds AND despite Wii U's suck fest, they still managed to post a profit on the quarter. Honestly, if anyone thinks information was stolen during a DDoS attack, then they have no idea what DDoS does. It's designed to knock out the ability to connect or connect from the attacked location, not to steal information.
