the games are already large and "open world", and the DS games, and the upcoming 3DS one already have online trading, and online battles, even random battles I think, not sure about random battles.

Mirror universe already had an origin story, in the Star Trek: Enterprise two-parter "In a Mirror, Darkly" even if you don't like that series, that two-parter was fantastic.
Except for Avatar wasn't a bad film, it was unoriginal (in many respects), but not bad, it had a sense of wonder in it, which is good, and was honestly a fun movie.
