So I didn’t like these books a whole lot even when I read them in my early teens and the only things I really had to compare them to were the early Dragonlance books and a few Conan stories. But I actually thought the pilot had potential.

Oh dear, my inner teenage geek just resurfaced when I saw that gif at the top and whispered to myself, “Blue for the Seeker!” Not sure why I remembered that line after all these years, but somehow it just popped into my head. I pictured them more of a royal blue than turquoise, but whatever—they are very pretty.
Just briefly. I watched all 4 available episodes just to make sure the premiere wasn’t a frontloaded fluke. I’m happy to say that I think this is the real deal, a visually stunning, action packed fantasy romp that serves it’s MTV audience while not turning off original & now much older EmTeeViewers like me. :)
I love…
I thought this was the internet? We need pictures of these people ;)
Ya I mean, its clearly “Face Me Sister!”
I’m glad you apologized at the start, cause you write terribly.
Am I the only one who feels like quite a few of these are stretching the definition of “science fiction and fantasy”?
The thing I’ve enjoyed the least about the (otherwise excellent) First Class series of X-Men has been Charles Xavier. McAvoy plays him like a feckless idiot. “Oh, super-psychic powerful Phoenix! It was all a dream, silly girl!” “Be quiet, Mystique! I don’t care about how your mutation makes you uncomfortable in…
Yeah, what’s the deal with the costumes? They look so generic. The X-Men movies have always seemed terrified to put the mutants in cool costumes. They could have gone full blown 80’s on this one and no one would have judged them for it.
That’s some bad hat Harry. ;)
This is around the time I stopped reading X-Men as a kid so I’ve no emotional investment in this...AND IT FEELS WONDERFUL!
HEY!
I’m not over it. :(
So that Inhuman HYDRA was after can only take over dead bodies. This is why it drove those astronauts to kill each other. It’s like a vulture - it follows blood and waits for the victims to die or helps them with it with dust storms and disorientation and, if the current body it possesses has the strength by killing…
Remember when Fitz lost a fight with a glass door in Season 1?
We’ve had that since the late 90s. He was orphaned (somehow, supposedly even he doesn’t remember), and lived on the streets before a pirate picked him up and made him work as a beggar/thief/con artist/etc. His only friend was a Wookie who died protecting him when he decided to run away and said pirate tried to murder…
The ink is dry.
He may not have gone full purple but he did call someone an “anal crumpet”.
what kinds of humor do you DO get?
