I don't know why it can't be almost exactly like Origins.

As much as there are other people like you who don't like the modern-day plot, there are millions more who count that as a major reason to play them. I remember finishing the original in 2007 and realizing the plot dictated that the games would still be made (with the same story) until 2012 and how that blew my mind.

Also, can we just mention for a second that she is so incredibly rad and why isn't she in this game more? I'm in sequence 5...needs more Elise.

That has nothing to do with the success of the other systems, it's about the lack of sold-through WiiUs. WiiU isn't selling less because the other consoles are selling more, the demand just doesn't seem to be there.
